Down Under Berlin presents 1. OPEN AIR AUSTRALIAN FILM NIGHT
August 8, 2014 from 8.30 pm at Open Air Kino Mitte

Enjoy Aussie classic "100 Bloody Acres" under the stars...

Reg and Lindsay run an organic fertiliser business and are in short supply of their "secret ingredient" to process through the meat grinder. They're not psycho killers ... they're small business operators.

100 Bloody Acres is the debut feature of multi-award winning filmmaking brothers Colin and Cameron Cairnes. The script won first prize at the 2010 Slamdance Screenwriting Competition and Best Feature Film at the prestigious Sitges International Film Festival, Midnight X-treme Category.

100 Bloody Acres: 2012, Australia, OmU, FSK 18, 91 minutes

...and listen to live music by Edwina & Deko

Edwina & Deko are an on-the-road project. They have taken their music from Germany, Italy and France all the way to Australia. They sing about everything from the cruelty of war (Innocent) to gentrification and daily life in their adopted city (Berlin and Sunday), homesickness and home (Take me Home and Black Friday), hard times in love (Leo, On my Way, Finally Flow) and to contrast these more melancholic and emotional tracks, a couple of lively, tongue-in-cheek serenades (Josephine and Romeo). In early 2014 Edwina & Deko toured Germany and Australia, and are now working on material for the next album, anticipated for release late 2014.

Our Call for Entries has just finished. And without wanting to give away too much just yet, we are thrilled to say that we have received more submissions than in any previous year. We are growing, that is, the Down Under Berlin community is growing. And by entering your film you have become part of that community. We are working tirelessly to expand the platform for Australian film that we founded in 2011 when Down Under Berlin took place for the first time. And we are very happy to have you with us. If you have questions concerning your submission, please get in touch with us
