Down Under Berlin enters German TV
Get ready for a selection of DUB 2013 submissions on ALEX TV! - Nov 9/10 and Dec 21/22
Partnerships make all the difference! In our case the media cooperation with public broadcaster ALEX TV has enabled us to take the next step in building a platform for Australian film within Germany. Besides the festival, this cooperation presents us with another way of showcasing the work of Australian filmmakers to German audiences, namely 1,64 million viewers!
As part of a film festival special, selected works by DUB 2013 participants will be aired both in November and December 2013. Films include Paul Gallasch's much discussed documentary Klling Anna, which divided audiences and the DUB team alike as well as Diane Busuttil's tantalising Dirt and Desire. Also screening will be "An Aorta to the Imagination", a short film observing the last day in the life of a book store, which is beautifully told by Annika Lems and Paul Reade and shorts by University of South Australia students: Fallen (Kate Davis) and Bad Acid (Dom Sargent, Liam Somerville). Lastly, viewers will be able to see two documentaries that each tell a tale of artistic life and aspirations set in urban Australia: Dan Hayward and Bernard Caleo's Graphic Novels! Melbourne! and Des Devlin's Distorted - Reflections on early Sydney punk.
