Stories from the Pacific, are seldom told in cinemas. Our people are all too often exploited to promote multiculturalism and cultural diversity in Aotearoa, but when given the opportunity to promote ourselves by ourselves, we are nearly always turned down because we our narratives don’t fit a certain agenda. It was important for me to tell this story because my children have the right to learn about their parents, and grandparents, and those before them who literally gave their life for them.” – Director Jeremiah Tauamiti
