One of my key drivers as a director is to see more women in roles both on-and-off screen. Collaborating with feminists and women such as Emily, Jess Charlton (cinematographer), Maggie Leigh White (lead actor), and our design department (Harriet and Rachel) an aim was for this film to be shown through the female gaze. One example of this relationship was how essential it was that Maggie felt Jess and her camera as a scene partner, where they sensed each other’s breath and shared an intimacy, as the woman would have with her husband.” – Director Tabitha Arthur
